 Ontario Eliminates Gift Card Expiry Dates

"Ontario is the first jurisdiction in Canada to
regulate gift cards. On October 1, 2007, regulations that govern gift
cards will come into effect."
This regulation will definitely impact
those clinics that like to issue gift certificates. I have come across
many clinics where expiry dates have been assigned to gift certificates
in order to encourage patients to book a given procedure sooner rather
than later. Keep this regulation in mind when issuing your next gift
certificate in order to avoid having to honor them indefinitely.
Good news: this regulation applies only to cash
equivalent cards therefore you might want to consider switching to
a reward point system / loyalty cards which are not affected by this
